YOUNGSTOWN SYMPHONY CHORUS SINGING TO FEED HUNGRY FAMILIES

A Benefit for Second Harvest Food Bank

Youngstown, OH (11/14/2006) Please join The Youngstown Symphony Chorus and the Youngstown SteelHounds as they kickoff the holiday season by “Singing for Second Harvest”. The community is invited to the Chevrolet Center on Saturday, November 25 at 5:00p.m. to sing Christmas Carols to help feed hungry families in our community. Admission is a non-perishable food item.

With a donation, singers will receive a voucher for $4.00 off a red or gold level seat to watch the SteelHounds face off the Austin Ice Bats on Thursday December 21 and be entered into a drawing to win a SteelHounds prize pack, including 4 tickets to the Youngstown Symphony Chorus’ Holiday Concert on December 3 at 4p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Youngstown.

Each day, the Food Bank distributes 20,000 pounds a food a day to 170 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties including church pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and shelters for battered women. The Food Bank’s most needed items include cereal, canned vegetables and meats, crackers, instant mashed potatoes and boxed stuffing.
